why didn't you simply download the wlan adapter directly from Atheros? I think that would be a better solution.
Based on what you linked, I'm guessing you are trying to use something like a USB WiFi Adapter (or USB WiFi Adapter with built-in NDIS 6 Filter). These devices are not the same as a WiFi card. Instead of a WiFi Card, the WiFi Adapter is a computer that runs a'mini-OS' that acts as the NDIS 6 Filter, it sends packets over the USB/SDIO/PCIe port and forwards them to the destination hardware. A company called Atheros Communications. They produce wifi cards that work with a wide variety of WiFi hardware. They also make USB WiFi Adapters.
why should I get the NDIS 6 Filter Driver when I already have the WLAN Driver?
Because NDIS 6 Filter drivers are really just wrappers around the WLAN driver. A NDIS 6 Filter is nothing more than a virtual driver, it creates a new interface that forwards packets over the data link.
